We had a super day at the Chelsea Flower Show today. Caught glimpses of a very smartly dressed Alan Titchmarsh, and Diarmuid Gavin kitted out in a harness being given a skylift! The standards this year were definitely a step up on 2010, with some really creative new gardens. Our favourites were the Chilstone Garden – designed by Heather Appleton, Diarmuid’s Irish Sky Garden, once again the Laurent-Perrier Garden – designed by Luciano Giubbilei, the RNIB Garden – designed by Paul Hervey-Brookes, and last but not least the Monaco Garden – designed by Sarah Eberle.
Generally the standards were exceptionally high. We were a little disappointed by some of the Artisan Gardens which all seemed a bit of a play on the same sort of thing, all except that was the Literary Garden – designed by Martin Cook and Bonnie Davies.
It was a super day, hot and sunny, we also downed a rather expensive half bottle of champagne! Which of course was delicious!
I’m now looking forward to applying some of the many ideas we picked up today into the gardens Gardenproud look after.
In the meantime here are a few pictures ………..
